Board of Directors

Jerrell Jimerson

Jerrell Jimerson brings his deep understanding of consumers, technology, and the web to create a new media experience built entirely around the user. One that is more accessible, easier to use, open to the web, and that has the potential to build a community of passionate users, developers, and partners.

From his earliest days as an undergraduate at UC Berkeley, where he worked as a student rep for Apple, Jerrell Jimerson has understood the transformational power of technology. Joining Apple after Cal, Jerrell worked in product marketing where he saw first hand the elements that were required to build a great company: great people, innovative technology, passionate users.

At Netscape Jerrell served as VP in charge of online content and programming. After Netscape’s acquisition by AOL, Jerrell led the online broadband efforts at Yahoo!, bringing a range of rich media experiences to consumers around the world.

When he’s not leading Songbird, you can spot Jerrell at the Greek Theater for Macy Gray, riding down the coast on the California AIDS ride (catching Tracy Chapman in camp!), and watching the Black Eyed Peas or Kayne West videos with his son.
